What
We
Believe
Note: We understand that the aforementioned statements do not, by any means, exhaust the content of our creed which is the whole Word of God, and they are not intended to set a limit beyond which faith cannot go within this world. We do believe that insofar as these articles extend they are a true presentation of the sound doctrine taught in the Scriptures and binding upon us as Christian believers.
-
We, therefore, believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament (66 books in all) to be the verbally inspired Word of God, the final authority for faith and life, inerrant in the original writings, infallible and God-breathed.
2 Timothy 3:16, 17 • 2 Peter 1:20, 21 • Matthew 5:18 • John 16:12, 13
-
We believe there is one Triune God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; coeternal in being, co-identical in nature, coequal in power and glory. They have the same attributes and perfections and execute distinct, but harmonious functions in the work of creation, providence and redemption.
Deuteronomy 6:4 • Matthew 3:16-17 • John 15:26 • 2 Corinthians 13:14
-
We believe in God, the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and eternal death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
Luke 10:21,22 • Matthew 23:9 • 1 Peter 1:3 • John 3:16 • 1 Timothy 1:1,2
-
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men.
John 1:1, 2, 14 • Luke 1:35 • Philippians 2:7We believe the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice; and that our justification is made sure by His literal physical resurrection from the dead.
Romans 3:24, 25 • 1 Peter 2:24 • Ephesians 1:7 • 1 Peter 1:3-5We believe the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor and Advocate.
Acts 1:9-10 • Hebrews 9:24, 7:25 • Roman 8:34 • 1 John 2:1-2 -
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person and is God, possessing all the divine attributes. He convicts of sin, regenerates, indwells, baptizes and seals all believers at the moment of their salvation, filling them in response with the goal of conforming them to the image of Christ.
John 3:5, 16:7-11 • Acts 5:3-4 • Ephesians 1:13, 4:30, 5:18 • 1 Corinthians 6:19, 12:13
-
We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam's sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature and became alienated from God; and that man is totally depraved, positively inclined to evil, and of himself utterly unable to remedy his lost condition.
Genesis 1:26-27 • Romans 3:23, 5:12 • Ephesians 2:1-3, 12
-
We believe in the doctrine of justification by faith, that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins.
Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-10 • John 1:12, 13 • 1 Peter 1:18, 19 • 1 Peter 2:24 • Titus 3:5
-
We believe that all who are saved are kept by God’s power and are safe and secure in Christ forever. Therefore, it is impossible for a redeemed child of God to lose his or her salvation.
John 5:24, 6:37-40, 6:40, 10:27-30 • Romans 8:28-29 • Ephesians 1:12-14, 4:30 • 2 Timothy 1:12 • 1 Peter 1:5 • 1 Corinthians 1:4-8 • Hebrews 13:5
We believe that it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God's Word. The Scripture clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as a license to sin.
Romans 13:13-14 • Galatians 5:13 • Titus 2:11-15
-
We believe that every saved person possesses two natures, with provision made for victory of the new nature over the old nature through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit; and that in this life all claims to the eradication of the old nature are unscriptural.
Romans 6:13, 8:12,13 • Galatians 5:16-25 • Ephesians 4:22-24 • Colossians 3:10 • 1 Peter 1:14-16 • 1 John 3:5-9
-
We believe that the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Savior and Lord; and that a believer shall be separated from religious apostasy, worldly and sinful pleasures, practices and associations which are contrary to God’s Word.
2 Timothy 3:15 • Romans 12:12, 14:13 • 1 John 2:15-17 • 2 John 9-11 • 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1
-
We recognize two ordinances of the church for this age: The Lord's Supper and Water Baptism. They are not to be regarded, however, as a means of salvation, or as a means of grace by which special merit is obtained.
We believe in commemorating our Lord's death until He comes with the Lord's Supper in which all true children of God may partake with Godly self-examination.
1 Corinthians 11:28 • Luke 22:19We believe that Christian Baptism is the believer's baptism by immersion in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This is to show forth in a solemn and beautiful testimony our faith in a crucified, buried and risen Savior.
Matthew 28:19,20 • Romans 6:35 • Colossians 2:12-13 -
We believe that God is sovereign in the bestowment of all His gifts; and that speaking in tongues and the working of sign miracles gradually ceased as the New Testament Scriptures were completed and their authority became established.
1 Corinthians 12:4-11 • 2 Corinthians 12:12 • Ephesians 4:7-13 • 1 Corinthians 13:8-10We believe that no specific gift is necessary for a proof of salvation, nor a proof of any degree of sanctification.
Ephesians 2:8-9We believe that God does hear and answer the prayer of faith in accord with His own will for the sick and afflicted.
John 15:7 • 1 John 5:14,15 -
We believe that the church, which is the body and the espoused bride of Christ, is a spiritual organism made up of all born-again persons of this present age.
Ephesians 1:22-23, 5:25-27 • 1 Corinthians 12:12-14 • 2 Corinthians 11:2We believe that the establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament Scriptures.
Acts 14:27, 20:17 • 1 Timothy 3:1-13 • Titus 1:5-11 -
We believe in the dispensational view of Bible interpretation. We believe the dispensations to be periods of time during which God administers His purpose on earth through man under varying responsibilities. We believe that three of these dispensations or rules of life are the subject of extended revelation in the Scriptures, viz., Mosaic Law, Grace, and the future Millennial kingdom.
These dispensations are distinct and not to be intermingled or confused, as they are chronologically successive. We reject any dispensational teaching which opposes either the Lord’s table or water baptism as Scriptural means of testimony for the Church in this age.
Matthew 28:19 • Acts 2:41,42 • Acts 18:8 • 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
-
We believe that Satan is a person, the author of sin and the cause of the fall. He is the open and declared enemy of God and man and that he shall be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire.
Job 1:6, 7 • Isaiah 14:12-17 • Matthew 4:2-11, 25:41 • Revelation 20:10
-
We believe in that "Blessed Hope," (Rapture). This is the personal, imminent, pretribulational and premillennial coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed ones.
1 Thessalonians 1:10, 4:13-18, 5:9 • Titus 2:11-13 • Revelation 3:10
We believe in His subsequent return to earth, with His saints, to establish His millennial kingdom.
Zechariah 14:4-11 • Revelation 19:11-16, 20:1-6
-
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life; the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment.
Matthew 25:46 • John 5:28, 29; 11:25, 26 • Revelation 20:5, 6, 12, 13
-
We believe sanctification to be in three aspects:
That God sanctifies, that is, sets us apart, at the time of our personal acceptance of Christ as Savior.
1 Corinthians 6:11 • John 1:12 • Colossians 3:2-6 • Ephesians 1:3-6
We grow in grace through the study of the Word of God. We are sanctified progressively by the Word, and separate ourselves from the practice of sin as the Holy Spirit enlightens us through the Word.
John 17:17 • Colossians 3:2-6 • 1 Peter 2:2-5
The Child of God will yet be fully sanctified in his state as he is now sanctified in his standing in Christ when he shall see his Lord and shall be “like Him.”
1 Thessalonians 5:23 • 1 John 3:2 • Philippians 3:21 • Colossians 3:4 • Jude 24

They meet together monthly for planning and prayer. Their job is to guide the policies and programs of Bible Baptist Church to continuously reflect the mission of the church.

Bible Baptist Church desires to make an Impact for Jesus Christ locally, nationally and globally. We have partnered with others to give hope to the hopeless and share God's truth with those who don't know Him personally. These are the missionaries Bible Baptist Church supports with our prayers and finances.
